Subject: Moving Forward – Leadership Appointments and Renewed Call to Service
Dear Members,
As many of you know, the Lazarus Union USA Command has been working toward official recognition of a change of command. While that process is still underway, we believe the mission of the Lazarus Union cannot stand still. In the interest of forward progress, unity, and renewed activity, we are making key leadership appointments that will help us move forward with strength and purpose.
Effective immediately, the following appointments are made within the USA Command:
- Lieutenant General Hayden Kaufman – Commander-in-Chief (CiC), United States Command
- Major General Omar Cisneros – Vice-Commander-in-Chief, Chief of Staff, United States Command
- Brigadier General Eric Motley – Atlantic Division Commander & Chief of Training and Standards
These appointments are more than titles — they are a declaration that the USA Command is determined to rebuild, grow, and serve actively alongside our Lazarus Union brothers and sisters worldwide.
Now we turn to you, our valued members. The success of this renewal depends not only on leadership, but on the commitment of each individual who chooses to serve. We invite you to:
- Remain active: Continue lending your time, energy, and voice to our mission.
- Rejoin if inactive: If you have stepped back, now is the time to come home. The USA Command needs your experience and dedication.
- Recruit new members: Share with others the values of service, fellowship, and honor that define us.
We are setting a new course: one of accountability, visibility, and activity. Our leadership team is committed to providing structure, opportunity, and training that will empower every member to contribute meaningfully. With renewed focus, the Lazarus Union USA Command will become a proud, active, and respected part of the international Lazarus Union family.
Together, we can move beyond dormancy and into a future marked by strength, determination, and renewed purpose.
In service and fraternity,
Lieutenant General Hayden Kaufman

International Leadership of the Lazarus Union
Subject: A Renewed Beginning for the Lazarus Union U.S. Command
Dear General Gruber-Lavin y Ochoa and Esteemed Members of the International Leadership:
The Lazarus Union United States Command stands at the threshold of a transformational moment. After extensive reflection and dialogue with our devoted members, it is clear that the time has come for a profound and intentional new beginning—one rooted in renewed purpose, energized leadership, and an active commitment to the values we hold dear.
For too long, our national command has been constrained by inertia in both leadership and engagement. We deeply honor the dedication of those who have served before, yet we acknowledge that the existing structure has not sufficiently inspired participation, fostered growth, or elevated our visibility—both nationally and within the global constellation of Lazarus Union units.
Today, we seize this moment as an opportunity—not merely to reorganize, but to reimagine how we operate and serve. We are establishing a bold, dynamic leadership structure aimed at:
Empowering our active members through roles that are accountable, responsive, and purposeful.
Attracting and inspiring new members by fostering a sense of belonging, meaningful engagement, and impactful service.
Positioning the U.S. Command as a vibrant, contributing partner among the Lazarus Union’s international family, aligned with the global mission of service, fraternity, and humanitarian commitment.
This is not a superficial alteration—it is a rebirth. We are committed to replacing stagnation with initiative, passivity with engagement, and uncertainty with a clear and renewed sense of purpose. Our members stand ready to serve; we are nurturing the leadership and structure they need to serve with pride, effectiveness, and distinction.
We wish to be more than participants—we aim to thrive. The United States Command is determined to shed its dormancy and emerge as a dynamic, recognized force within the Lazarus Union. We pledge that the U.S. Command will no longer remain dormant, but will move forward with strength, determination, and unfaltering resolve.
We will keep you closely informed as our restructuring progresses and extend our sincere gratitude for your continued support during this period of renewal. Together, with renewed energy and unity, we can ensure the Lazarus Union United States Command claims its rightful place among our global counterparts and contributes with vigor to our shared mission.
With profound respect, conviction, and renewed purpose,
Hayden Kaufman, GCCLU
Major (i.g), CSLI
